The ranch, owned and operated by Kris and Debbie Jamsa, fulfills a life long dream. “We feel we've found a little piece of paradise, and imagine the horses feel the same.” The cool summer climate, large grass pastures, and the privacy and serenity of this natural setting make the sanctuary a very magical place!

Our mission is to provide owners who must rest or retire their horses, a place where the horses will make new friends and have a chance to once again be a horse. Because of the limited number of horses accepted, the Sanctuary offers programs based on individual assessments.

It is our intention to see that your horse receives the care due him in his latter years of life as well as to be sensitive to his level of contentment and enjoyment. We believe care of a horse is more than food and water....it includes making sure he is surrounded by friends, in a pasture at which he feels at home and that he received personal attention and awareness of subtle changes in appetite, mood and so on. There is no substitute for the experience, and care that it takes to notice these subtleties.

For as long as she can remember, Debbie Jamsa has loved horses. Today, Debbie is living her dreams as the owner and trainer of Happy's Dream Ranch. The Happy's Dream Ranch motto: Believe in your dreams and others will believe in you tells much of the Happy's Dream Ranch story.

Debbie is certified by the American Riding Instructors Association (ARIA), which requires instructors to display a broad base of knowledge in: general horse care; safety principles; ethics and value judgements; and horsemanship teaching techniques.

We understand the connection between a horse that has performed for years for you and your desire now to make sure he is well cared for. We understand the care necessary in this important transition from their accustomed lifestyle to a quieter, less demanding pace. Please feel free to call and discuss with us any questions you may have.

"Somewhere in time's own space
There must be some sweet pastured place
Where creeks sing on and tall trees grow
Some Paradise where horses go.
For by the love that guides my pen
I know great horses live again."
